Recently travelled to Abu Dhabi from Muscat ( and back to Muscat ) via car through this border. I’m expatriate living in oman and I had thought this border is only for gcc citizens, but I drove here anyway and fortunately went through.
I’m an a lady driver and I choosed Muscat Express Way to this border. Road has 4 lines and very quiet, so very easy for ladies to drive. You will find also some park area for rest. I took 4 hours from Muscat to this border with 125km speed
Very quick service from both UAE and Oman immigration and security officers. They were friendly and humble. Me and my family (all are UAE residents) passed through this border during Eid Holidays within 10 minutes. To cross UAE border, I haven’t even got out of the car.
