A couple of pointers for people looking for service from ServiceMarket packing and moving. Please note they are merely an aggregator and really don’t care what service they are providing. Their commitment is to connect customers with service providers. They have no quality control whatsoever. For example, the ‘Cleaning’ service I got was pathetic from start to end. I got ServiceMarket’s cleaning partner who sent two Mali helpers who had limited experience and did a below average job. They didn’t remove curtains to clean behind and under them, didn’t clean windowsills, didn’t clean the grease trap under the kitchen chimney, didn’t mop the covered areas extended to the balcony (thus made the balcony area impossible to use for another 24 hours), didn’t clean the inside of three wardrobes and more. Their cleaning session actually turned into a moving session because they ended up shifting wardrobes, shoe cabinets and furniture in their ‘intense cleaning activity’ as well! The crew didn’t even have airtight containers to store home cleaning chemicals, so they used my flimsy spare suitcases instead (breakable!). They called multiple colleagues to ask basic questions about appliances; that’s when you wonder how qualified they were to clean! They didn’t even manage one bedroom within 7 hours. In short, ServiceMarket washing helpers should have been a part of the moving team too since they did a moving job more than a cleaning job. The cleaning was done primarily without moving any furniture and I don’t think SHM had a single person for lifting. I clarified with cleaning partner if two people were enough for the service and they confirmed that was all that was required. If it turns out, upon inspection (not that it was ever rescheduled), that DMGM will need to send someone more qualified to clean, I shall refuse to accept them, as your compilation of excuses and focus would be on moving the curtains (not my case) than on cleaning the grease trap or the windows with blinds or the tops of ACs. Hopefully, the rest of the items they didn’t clean well are not complained about in the future. Also, the entire cleaning was done with my kid around, even though I had specifically asked if the area needed to be cleared for cleaning in advance. It was such a horrible experience that I refused the “redo” at my apartment. I’ll never opt for cleaning services via ServiceMarket again. Second, the moving services were mediocre instead of good and professional. They were slow, chit-chatted a lot and took their time. One of them literally took a smoke break at least once an hour, despite me saying I was on a tight schedule. When the coordinator came (3hours late), I complained of the sluggish service and was promised that things would speed up after his arrival, they did not! They were careless (almost damaged my bar stool), took unnecessary breaks and drove super slowly for no good reason. I was charged 500AED extra for wasting 3 hours because they got lost finding the new house and I was told the map was not correct (their in-house navigation was accurate to the dot). My old apartment had narrow hallways and slow elevators, so when it came to arranging my stuff in the new bigger space, they did not take my consent as to how I’d like things arranged, they just dumped stuff where they thought it was best while I was in another room! Finally, there were random unfinished cleaning tasks, broken parts of my furniture, damaged fridge door, clothes and shoes were broken, lost or bent. One of them dropped a bin cup and didn’t pick it up - they just left it there. They did not even ask me to approve if the arrangement was fine, they didn’t even care to wait while I restocked my kids’ wardrobe (the two of them dumped everything on the bed while the third was wondering why they couldn’t find the new house). When I opened the wardrobe later, I realized they had not even lined the shelves or wiped them clean! I did complain earlier on so the Coordinator, Shameel, made an appearance almost at the end and THEN I got a chance to show him the damage and remaining tasks - little too late buddy. Also, the cleaning crew damaged the coil on top of the AC and I got a cold drip of water on my bed for TWO solid hours, despite calling the cleaning partner and ServiceMarket to ask them to do something. They just didn’t respond to my requests. Finally, for a major part of their service time, I had to leave two kids in the old apartment alone to receive more deliveries. Thankfully, nothing went wrong, but I had to trust the cleaner with their safety and I had specifically said that the moving services must finish before the cleaning starts. I did try to understand their situation as Ramadan was starting the next day, which they said is peak season for movers, but then maybe I shouldn’t have moved right before Ramadan.

I had an exceptional experience with the moving and cleaning services provided by Service Market. Marvie Bagiscan, the customer representative, was responsive and ensured that all my concerns were addressed with respect to moving and cleaning services. She went the extra mile to make sure that I was happy with all the arrangements and ensured that I got the best cleaning and packing staff available. The moving staff from Pick and Move movers was also efficient, quick, and handled all my belongings with care. The cleaning staff from Aura Cleaning Services were also exceptional. They cleaned my apartment thoroughly and beyond my expectations. Overall, it has been a stress-free and pleasant experience making use of the services provided by Service Market.

I used them twice and my experience was terrible in both cases. The first time I ordered a rug cleaning service. The people they sent completely ruined my rug by washing it with the wrong detergent and then didn't dry it properly. I had to throw it away as it became a breeding ground for mold. The second time I used them for moving. The movers were late and slow and some of my furniture got scratched in the process. I will not be using their services again.
